For the people of that world, the Bible is not an ancient book to be demythologized and reinterpreted, but fits exactly with how they experience a world: ruled by demons and illness and oppressors, from which the power of God can deliver them.<\/font><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00a0<\/font><\/o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">The Filipino priest<span>\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/newsinfo.inquirer.net\/inquirerheadlines\/nation\/view\/20071231-109535\/Healing_priest_does_so_many_miracles_like_in_the_Bible\">Fernando Suarez<\/a> said that when he was a teenager he discovered that when he prayed for people they were healed (gracias to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newoxfordreview.org\/\">New Oxford Review<\/a>).<\/font><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00a0<\/font><\/o:p> <font face=\"Times New Roman\">In <st1:country-region w:st=\"on\"><st1:place w:st=\"on\">Canada<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>, he was called to the hospital for a dying woman.<\/font><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00a0<\/font><\/o:p><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><o:p><\/o:p>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">A Canadian woman declared dead eight hours earlier, her organs ready to be harvested and donated, suddenly opened her eyes after Filipino priest Fr. Fernando Suarez prayed over her.<o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00a0<\/font><\/o:p><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">In his ministry, Suarez has a quiet approach:<o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00a0<\/font><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">Suarez goes about it gently, in his own soothing way, touching, praying over people, pleading for healing. And because he wants everything centered in the Eucharist, he always begins with a Holy Mass.<\/font><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00a0<\/font><\/o:p><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">According to witnesses, things happen when Suarez prays:<o:p><\/o:p><\/font><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00a0<\/font><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">Businessman Greg Monteclaro of Couples for Christ-Gawad Kalinga has seen it all. \u201cExcept the raising of the dead,\u201d he says. \u201cBut the deaf hear, the blind see, the lame walk &#8212; all that is told in the Bible &#8212; I have seen it happen.\u201d<\/font><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u00a0<\/font><\/o:p><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--StartFragment--><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in\" class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-left: 0in\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #333333\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">\u201cAll that is told in the Bible\u201d<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u2013<\/span>\u00a0seems to hold much more sway in the Third World than in the <st1:place w:st=\"on\">First World<\/st1:place>.
