The riots in Greece are just the beginning. The French hate to work, and would probably have a revolution rather than work until 65. Not that a revolution would do any good, but that never seems to have stopped the French.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormalCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/05\/23\/world\/europe\/23europe.html?hp\">New York Times<\/a> reports:<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt; line-height: 17.6pt; text-align: left;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">With low growth, low birthrates and longer life expectancies, Europe can no longer afford its comfortable lifestyle, at least not without a period of austerity and significant changes. The countries are trying to reassure investors by cutting salaries, raising legal retirement ages, increasing work hours and reducing health benefits and pensions. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormalCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">(snip)<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormalCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">According to the <\/span><a title=\"More articles about European Commission\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/organizations\/e\/european_commission\/index.html?inline=nyt-org\"><span style=\"color: #004276;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">European Commission<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">, by 2050 the percentage of Europeans older than 65 will nearly double. In the 1950s there were seven workers for every retiree in advanced economies.
