This verse of the Gospel reads \u2018\u201dWhy do you see the splinter in your brother\u2019s eye, but you don\u2019t notice the beam in your own eye.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 16pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;\"><span style=\"color: black; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">As I walked around Rome on recent visits, I noticed how many buildings outside the Vatican bore signs that indicate they were extraterritorial (i.e., tax free). Hoteliers in Rome are sore about this. The Vatican and religious orders run hotels which are exempt from real estate taxes and use as employees religious who are exempt from minimum wage laws and other employment regulations.
