As Christopher Caldwell details in his Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam, and the West<\/em>, the elites in Europe have long tried to convince the voters that there is no danger from Moslem immigration. The voters are not convinced.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Swiss run their country by referendum, to the horror of the elites, and the Swiss are not happy with Moslem immigration. In a surprise vote, 59% of the voters voted to forbid the construction of minarets in Switzerland, while polls had shown that 53% would reject this measure that had been proposed by \u201cright-wing populists.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When they are given the chance, European voters vote against welcoming\u00a0to their countries unassimilated and increasingly radicalized Moslems \u2013 which is why the elites try to make sure they are not given the chance.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Les Suisses se sont prononc\u00e9s par r\u00e9f\u00e9rendum en faveur de l’interdiction de la <\/span>construction de minarets<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a>, selon les sondages sortie des urnes annonc\u00e9es par la <\/span>t\u00e9l\u00e9vision suisse romande (TSR)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a>. Les commentateurs de la TSR ont qualifi\u00e9 ces premiers r\u00e9sultats de “grande surprise”. Une heure apr\u00e8s la fermeture du scrutin \u00e0 midi , la TSR estimait \u00e0 59% des voix la part des votants oppos\u00e9s \u00e0 la construction des minarets.<\/p>\n

Une majorit\u00e9 des 26 cantons helv\u00e9tiques serait \u00e9galement favorable \u00e0 l’initiative de la droite populiste, permettant la modification de l’article de la constitution sur la libert\u00e9 religieuse pour interdire la construction de minarets. Les commentateurs de la TSR ont qualifi\u00e9 ce r\u00e9sultat de “grande surprise” car il contredit les sondages qui pr\u00e9disaient durant la campagne un rejet \u00e0 53% de la proposition de la droite populiste.<\/p>\n

La droite populiste helv\u00e9tique a donc convaincu les Suisses en accusant les minarets d’\u00eatre le “symbole apparent d’une revendication politico-religieuse du pouvoir, qui remet en cause les droits fondamentaux”.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
