{"id":593,"date":"2012-12-02T07:03:38","date_gmt":"2012-12-02T13:03:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.podles.org\/dialogue\/?p=593"},"modified":"2012-12-02T08:20:26","modified_gmt":"2012-12-02T14:20:26","slug":"advent-in-eurabia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.podles.org\/dialogue\/advent-in-eurabia-593.htm","title":{"rendered":"Advent in Eurabia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i4.ytimg.com\/vi\/3_K8CL8HzFo\/mqdefault.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"180\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/european-life-and-family-roundup\">City of Brussels will ban Christmas trees out of fear of \u2018offending Muslims\u2019<\/a><\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nBRUSSELS \u2013 Government officials announced this month that they would not be erecting the usual Christmas tree exhibit in the city centre due to worries over offending the local Muslim population.<em>Brussels News<\/em><span> <\/span>reports that the city will replace both the tree and the Nativity scene this year with an \u201celectronic winter tree.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 82 foot tall electronic sculpture will be built of a group of television screens, according to the blogger Brussels Expat, an Englishman who lives in the city. \u201cDuring the daytime you can climb to the top of the tree where you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the city,\u201d he wrote. \u201cAs soon as it becomes dark the tree turns into a spectacle of light and sound.
